Expected launch Date : Feb 2013Estimated Price : N/A24 November,2012: Honda has launched the 2013 version of its renowned crossover Honda CR-V in Australia, the version which was first launched in USA and then went on to sale in Europe. The Australian version of the 2013 Honda CR V has come out with two powertrains and two transmission options with AWD and FWD options. The base mode of the Honda CR V Crossover is powered with a 2L 4 Cylinder petrol engine that gives a pulling power of 153bhp and 190Nm. The engine is spawned on Honda’s i-VTEC technology and comes aligned with a six speed manual transmission gearbox however the AWD option is not available with this engine. Coming to the other powertrain offered by the Japanese auto major is the 2.4L i-VTEC petrol mill that pumps out 187bhp peak power and 222Nm torque value. The AWD option is available here but then the gearbox here is only 5 Speed. 2013 Honda CR-V is spotted during the test runs numerous times with the launch expected to happen by the month of March next year. The diesel engine is again going to go amiss and the market speculates only the 2.4L i-VTEC engine to make it to Indian shores.

Maruti Suzuki is all set to bring two kei cars-one of which is MR Wagon. Kei cars fall in a category of small cars in Japan and are quite popular in the country. MR Wagon Kei car is a 3 cylinder, 657cc petrol engined car. Besides this it is available in both turbocharged and naturally aspirated form. The turbocharged version produces 60 BHP power and a peak torque of 97 Nm while on the other hand aspirated engine produces 54 Bhp power and 64Nm torque. These figures show that MR Wagon gives high fuel economy, which is supposed to be more than 22 Kmpl in Japanese conditions. Since it carries sub-800 cc engine, it was initially thought of as a Tata Nano rival. However, soon the air was cleared and it was confirmed that Suzuki is just bringing these cars for display in Auto Expo and not for actual sale or launch purpose. In fact, MR Wagon will be showcasing to get the consumer feedback which will eventually help in formulating the future strategy of Maruti Suzuki. However, the vehicle has recently made its entry in the Thai market and has been tagged at a price of Rs.8.19 lakh approximately (4,54,000 Baht) . Interestingly, Honda has only released petrol variants of Brio based Amaze sedan that are powered with 1.2L i-VTEC petrol engine that offers fuel efficiency of 20kmpl. The petrol variants have come out in four guises- S MT, S AT, V MT and V AT. The highly awaited sedan in its diesel avataar will be powered with 1.5L i-DTEC diesel mill that has been spawned on Honda’s all new ‘Earth Dreams’ technology. Expected launch Date : Mar 2013Estimated Price : N/A18 December 2012: Mahindra E2O, the first electric four-seater from Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Pvt Ltd, has been delayed in its launch. Earlier slated down for release towards the end of November 2012, the car is now expected to be out in the market some time around January 2013. Powered by a 48-Volt, 29kW electric motor that can spin a peak 39.4bhp for promising mileage figures, the soon-to-arrive E2O would come as a boon in the present scenario of fuel price hikes. Put together at the recently established eco-friendly production site of Mahindra near Bangalore, this electric car is likely to cost its buyers a sum of about Rs 6 lakh. Another version, driven by a lead-acid battery and, hence, costing a little more than this model, is also rumoured to be in the pipeline for launch but is yet to be made official by the makers. As for the officially announced variant of E2O, it won't need to prepare for a competition until and unless Nissan Leaf decides to come ashore.

enthusiasts it means a slew of new car launches. So to keep you updated on some
of the most popular upcoming car launches in 2013, CarDekho brings to you a list
of the most anticipated upcoming diesel cars in India that will debut in the
year 2013.
Honda Amaze
Easily one of the most anticipated sedans of the year 2013, Honda plans to launch the Amaze by the next financial year with both petrol and diesel engine options. The diesel option for the Amaze will house a newly developed engine for better refinement levels and will be more suited to the Indian market. Since the sedan is expected to come in sub 4-meter length and will be , the excise duty benefits will assure competitive pricing. The Honda Amaze is expected to offer competition to the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire and the Tata Indigo and from what we can tell, it may well emerge as the winner.
Chevrolet Sail (Sedan)
General Motors recently launched the Chevrolet Sail UVA in the Indian market and had originally planned the launch of the sedan version by December, 2012. However these plans were delayed and we now expect the Sail sedan launch to take place in early 2013. GM has already announced plans for an extra 4-5 models being launched over the next 4-5 years. From the looks of it, GM has aggressive expansion of its Indian car line-up in mind. The Sail sedan will replace the existing Chevrolet Aveo model due to it being obsolete and is expected to compete with entry-level sedans like Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Toyota Etios and Tata Indigo and Honda Amaze. Additionally, the Chevrolet Sail sedan will house the same Fiat sourced 1.3-litre TDI engine that also works under the hood of the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire.
Hyundai i10
Unlike General Motors, Hyundai India has pre-poned their plans for the i10 diesel launch in India. Hyundai has originally planned to launch the i10 diesel by hte second half of the year 2013; however, our sources revealed that the diesel version of the i10 will actually come to Indian shores by the first quarter of 2013, possibly by March. Unfortunately, Hyundai has not been as forthcoming about the engine specification but we expect the i10 diesel to house a next-gen 3-cylinder diesel engine. The Hyundai i10 diesel is expected to offer competition to Maruti Suzuki Swift diesel, Maruti Suzuki Ritz, Fiat Punto, the newly launched Chevrolet Sail U-VA and a few others that are powered by the Fiat sourced 1.3-litre MultiJet engine.
Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R
Yet another eagerly awaited diesel vehicle is the Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R diesel. According to our expectations, the diesel version of the Wagon-R will hit the Indian market by mid-2013. As for the engine, we expect MSI to give the Wagon-R diesel a 1.0-litre Fiat sourced engine that the company is currently working on. While we are fairly certain about the possible engine options for the Wagon-R diesel, the Wagon-R diesel mileage is as yet unknown. However, the expectations are that the diesel motor will be able to offer up to 25kmpl. Hyundai's i10 diesel will be the main competitor against the Wagon-R diesel.
Tata Nano
The famed Tata Nano is soon to come with a diesel heart. According to Tata Motors, the Tata Nano failed to live up to its full potential due to several mistakes on the company's part. While a refreshed version of the Tata Nano is in the works, what majority are interested in, is the diesel version of the Tata Nano. The CNG version of the Tata Nano is expected to come out in the first half of 2013 after which will follow the Tata Nano diesel launch in the last quarter of 2013.
Ford EcoSport
The Ford EcoSport is easily the most anticipated launch of the year 2013, which is why we saved it for last. So far, it seems the Renault Duster has little to no competition in the Indian market and is currently thriving on high sales numbers. The Ford EcoSport is expected to give the Duster a run for its money. Interestingly, the Ford EcoSport launch has been confirmed for March end, 2013 in Nepal, which means that Indian is all set to get the EcoSport at around the same time. However, reports indicate that only the petrol version of the EcoSport will be launched first with the diesel engine to follow. The EcoSport that is destined for Nepal and India as well, will house the famed 1.0-litre 3-cylinder EcoBoost petrol engine that cranks out roughly 118bhp along with 170Nm of peak torque. As far as mileage goes, we have no concrete details as yet, but the expected Ford EcoSport petrol mileage is in the proximity of 20kmpl.
